Pinces coupantesDrahtschere

These German wire cutters date from shortly before the Second World War. They are stamped Hugo Linder, Deltawerk A.G. Solingen, 1936. At over 60cm long, this is a two-handed tool. The handles are made of what appears to be some kind of fibreboard, which would insulate the user from electrified wire or the metal of the cutter in freezing weather. Over the years the tip of one blade has broken off. We’ve taped it to the other blade to make sure it doesn’t get lost. With both in place they would have formed a ‘V’ shape. Source: Page Facebook du musée de Bovington.
